Lynn Graham 1944-2025

Athens - Lynn Graham, 80, died after several months of illness. Lynn was the only child of Jack and Marjorie Graham. Her husband, Jim Mowery, died in 2012. After graduating from Athens High School, she received her B.A. in Communication Studies from Ohio University. Before retirement she served for many years as Director of Graduate Student Services in Education at OU. Until her death Lynn was deeply but quietly involved in the life of the Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd. She was for so many years the backbone of the parish, working to a large extent invisibly to organize and arrange and schedule, often forgotten in public expressions of gratitude. She would be down in the kitchen, unseen; she always preferred to be behind the scenes. But she was the one people naturally called for help—a ride to the hospital, assistance after medical treatment. Her death is a palpable absence.

Funeral services will take place at the Church of the Good Shepherd on Saturday, May 10, at 2 p.m. Instead of sending flowers, please make a donation to the charity of your choice in her name. Lynn Graham
